Whether you’re visiting in the summer or the winter, the Biohotel Hermitage is undeniably the most romantic hotel in Madonna di Campiglio. From its on-site spa, to its Michel-star restaurant, to its suites with epic panoramic views of the Dolomites, you’ll need to be dragged out when its time to check-out. The Allure of Madonna di Campiglio

Madonna di Campiglio, a little village situated near the Italian Dolomites, is the ultimate location for a romantic weekend away. From the first time I visited Madonna di Campiglio I immediately understood the adoration. No matter what season you visit it feels like you’re immersing yourself in a magical village.

What Makes the Biohotel Hermitage So Romantic?

Let me explain what makes the Biohotel Hermitage one of the most romantic hotels in Madonna di Campiglio. Hint: there are a LOT of reasons!

Breathtaking Views of the Dolomites

We stayed in one of the suites (highly recommended for those looking for mountain chic getaway) and it was well worth it for the panoramic views of the Dolomites.

The junior suite has recently been renovated and is fantastic. It’s spacious: there is a large double-sink bathroom, plenty of closet space, a small terrace to enjoy coffee and tea, and extra-wide windows to show off the stunning views.

We didn’t close the shades at all because we wanted to take in the experience at all times of day. Depending on the time of day or where the sunlight or moonlight sits, the mountains change colors and can completely transform the vibe. We even lucked out with a massive full moon show as it slowly dipped under the mountains.

Charming Alpine Architecture and Interiors

If you are seeking a mountain chic atmosphere, look no further than the Biohotel Hermitage. Across the entire hotel you’ll find cozy wooden accents, fireplaces, and warm lighting inviting you to sit down and relax. There are different common spaces with big, comfy chairs accessorized with wool pillows or fuzzy blankets.

Luxurious Spa & Wellness Center

I am always a sucker for a spa. At the Hermitage, guests can enjoy the spa as much as they want. There is an indoor heated pool with a panormaic mountain room. Then, there are several additional rooms like a sauna, steam room, or Himalayan salt relaxation room.

Grab a cup of tea, relax outside of the loungers if the weather permits, and soak in the beauty of the Dolomites. And, what says romantic hotel in Madonna di Campiglio more than a spa?

Couples can also opt for massages and other treatments for an additional fee.

Organic Fine Dining for Two

What’s more romantic than dinner in a restaurant with no more than 8 tables? What enhances this romantic hotel in Madonna di Campiglio is that you can dine at their on-site Michel-star restaurant, Stube.

Select one of the tasting menus and then sit back and relax while you feast on an epic meal. It is truly an experience you won’t want to miss. Personally, I celebrated my engagement dinner here and it was the perfect spot!

Privacy, Intimacy, and Personalized Service

The hotel is run by the Maffei family, a sister/mother team who are attentive, kind, and generous. The staff goes out of their way to make their guests feel like family and its the extra touches that create an intimate and romantic setting.

This isn’t an enormous, chain-hotel. With fewer rooms you can expect more intimacy and an attentive yet discreet staff that caters to special couples moment.

Real Guest Impressions

I have a special place in my heart for the Biohotel Hermitage as my boyfriend and I celebrated our engagement weekend here. He proposed on a hike through the Cinque Laghi and the entire weekend was magical and romantic thanks to the Biohotel Hermitage.

Any couples considering a honeymoon, anniversary, or simply a romantic weekend away should highly consider booking here. Part of the charm is that Hermitage is not in the town center of Campiglio. You’re a bit more tucked away in nature, but still a 5-minute drive to the center if needed. However, I promise you are very likely not going to want to leave!

Practical Info

How to Get Here

If you’re arriving by car, the drive is scenic and straightforward from major cities like:

  • Milan – ~3.5 hours
  • Verona – ~2.5 hours
  • Venice – ~4 hours

Parking is available at the hotel, and having a car offers more flexibility to explore the surrounding area, including hikes and lakes.

Best Time of Year to Visit for a Romantic Trip

If you’re dreaming of a cozy alpine escape with your partner, the timing of your trip can really shape the mood.

  • Winter (December – March): Perfect for couples who love snowy landscapes, skiing, and cuddling by the fire. Madonna di Campiglio is a top-tier ski destination, and the hotel offers easy access to lifts, as well as a dreamy spa with panoramic mountain views. Think candlelit dinners after a day on the slopes and snowshoe walks under the stars.
  • Summer (June – September): Ideal for couples who prefer outdoor adventure and tranquil greenery. This is when the Dolomites are lush and bursting with wildflowers, and you can hike, e-bike, picnic, or visit alpine lakes. Long daylight hours mean plenty of time to explore, and the sunsets over the mountains are unforgettable.

So, if you are seeking a romantic hotel in Madonna di Campiglio, I urge you to book the Biohotel Hermitage. You won’t regret it and you won’t forget your time here.

Italy and classic car lovers unite!! The @coppamil Italy and classic car lovers unite!! The @coppamilanosanremo is an official experience you won’t want to miss.

What started in 1906 as a speed rally from Milan to Sanremo, today has shifted into a precision rally. Attend as either a driver/co-driver or a guest (like me!) and you’ll have a blast. The teams drive through Lombardy, Piedmont, and wrap up in Liguria.

So, if you love the idea of vintage cars winding through scenic Italian landscapes, you may want to look into joining next year’s rally (or at least seeing it it may pass through your town).

How to apply for the permesso di soggiorno in Ital How to apply for the permesso di soggiorno in Italy!!

Moving to Italy sounds great (and it is!) but before you can truly enjoy your new life abroad, you have to take care of some housekeeping. The first up, and one of the most important tasks, is filing for your Permesso di soggiorno (residency permit) so you can be cleared to legally live in Italy.

The process is a pain. Depending on which city you live in likely determines how long processing this will take. For example, I’ve heard horror stories about the wait times in Florence. But Milan, despite being a large city, seems to process these fairly efficient.

It’s your first introduction to Italian bureaucracy and the most important thing is completing this WITHIN 8 DAYS OF YOUR ARRIVAL IN ITALY!

📌Save this guide for your future move to Italy so you don’t miss a single step.

I had a new “first” as an American living in Italy I had a new “first” as an American living in Italy this week (and it was a bit of a culture shock for me) - the condo assembly. 😅

I truly wish I could have had a secret camera in the room. As an American, my understanding is most condo associations elect of a board of directors to make most day-to-day decisions. Of course if there is a bigger decision, the condos vote (usuall 1 vote for household). Well, that process is very different in Italy!

Here, the amount of votes are determined by condo size. And everyone, I mean EVERYONE, seems to have a (loud) opinion on every topic. My imagination of a calm meeting amongst neighbors was quickly replaced by reality.

Anyways, I love living in Italy but these experiences make me laugh at how one thing can differ so much one place to another.

Hidden costs of owning a car in Italy. 🚙🙃 I was s Hidden costs of owning a car in Italy. 🚙🙃

I was soooo thrilled after getting my license in Italy! Then, I was humbled veryyy quick by all of the beauracracy and costs that come along with it.

My biggest shock was perhaps the Area C payments (despite being a resident within Area C) and only receiving a discount for a limited number of entries a year. 🫠 Why…

Do any of these shock you? Or are there any other costs I have still overlooked (keep in mind as a foreigner it’s hard to know sometimes what to pay - like this bollo!).

Save this post if are in the market for buying a car in italy and all of the costs attached to buying a car in iraly. 😵‍💫
