DO NOT VISIT MILAN (in July or August). Milan is DO NOT VISIT MILAN (in July or August).

Milan is an amaaazing city and I’m convinced anyone who says otherwise really didn’t do any decent research. I was once a victim of being a Milan hater and fastforward and I’m living here and loving it 🤣 It’s because I didn’t do my research!

So YES, please plan a trip to Milan BUT be aware you may be disappointed on the weekends during July and August. The mains residents clear out (heading to the beach or mountains) and the city feels eerily quiet. Hot and empty. Not my idea of a fun way to explore what should be a bustling big city.

Take July and August in Italy to visit the sea or hike in the mountains. Come back to Milan in spring or fall.

✨🐚🐠SARDINIA DAY 1👙🐙☀️ Last August we took a 2 wee ✨🐚🐠SARDINIA DAY 1👙🐙☀️

Last August we took a 2 week road trip in Northern Sardinia - covering places like Costa Smeralda, Cala Gonone, Alghero, and La Maddalena. I’ve made reels about many parts of this trip but have gotten pinged if I can make more detailed views of how we spent each day to share all the best things to do in Sardinia. 🌸

Here is part 1 that kicks off with us taking the ferry to Olbia and arriving in Costa Smeralda! Our first day was a little “boring” as we got situated but I promise we pack a LOT into two weeks.

📌 Follow along for this series if you willl be doing any Sardinia travel planning!

We are renovating an apartment in Milan! For tho We are renovating an apartment in Milan!

For those of you who may not know, there are many strong opinions about home renovations in Italy. 😅

At the end of last year we bought an apartment in Milan and after months of finalizing the design we have finally kicked off renovations. How fun having to rewire and plumb an entire apartment in an old building!!! Hopefully some of my next progress videos will start feeling more like a home and less like a demolition zone.

It got me thinking about some Italians I know having babies. While they are not having a baby shower, they happily send out a link to an Amazon registry. This link goes out to family, friends, and even colleagues! I operate more under the idea that if we are close enough that you want to give me a gift, we’ll be talking so you know what I want/need and I don’t need to send you a link.

I’m sure this post will ruffle feathers because I tend to have strong opinions on the (surplus) of parties and gifts people except. I could post MANY more videos about this.

Ok…rant over. For now 😜
